    The Barefoot College of Tilonia

    Tilonia, a village in rural Rajasthan, is the home of the Barefoot College. Since 1972, the College has worked to improve the lives of the rural poor by addressing basic needs for water, electricity, housing, health, education and income. Today, women from more than 93 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America have been trained by the College to solar electrify their own communities.

    Friends of Tilonia, Inc. is a US non-profit organization which helps to support the rural development programs of its charitable affiliates in India, Mexico, Guatemala and Cambodia.  Through its Sprout Enterprise® initiative, FOT is building a network of artisans, designers and entrepreneurs creating sustainable livelihoods for rural communities with few economic alternatives.
